Freddie you may be right. It would be a lot easier for me to form a ceramic grill than to try to cast a brass one. There's a good chance that the rapid heating or cooling of the ceramic grill would cause it to break but it cost me almost nothing to give it a try.

Sterno is supposed to burn around 140 Degrees, so it shouldn't break a ceramic grill if you kiln it at a high cone.
