I met Jerry O'Connell (Sliders, Joe's Apartment, Jerry Maquire) while in Vegas with my mother and sisters for my youngest sister's 21st birthday. I had a terrible head cold while we were there, so I was hanging out with my mom while my sisters went around to the clubs. Mom and I were in one of the casinos (I don’t remember which one, I’m afraid—we were en route to Treasure Island, but I don’t remember where we were precisely), and I saw Jerry at a table with a whole crowd of people, looking very excited—must’ve been doing well! I got all flustered, and insisted that we lurk for a few minutes, to see if perhaps he broke away so I could say hello. (Being something of a sci-fi geek, I really liked the Sliders series, and had also recently seen and enjoyed Joe’s Apartment.) After a few moments, he did indeed break away from his group, and I managed to walk up and introduce myself. He was very nice—shook my hand, and said “Pleased to meet you, I’m Jerry”. Silly me, I didn’t say anything bright at all, and instead mentioned that I’d have to tell my boyfriend that I’d met him. He said “Too bad you have a boyfriend” and smiled, and I missed my chance to be swept away into a life of stardom and Hollywood glitter by simply giggling inanely… I hope Tikitronic appreciates the sacrifices I’ve made for him! :) [ Edited by: Kim on 2003-09-02 18:13 ] [ Edited by: Kim on 2003-09-02 18:14 ] |
