An dealer of militaria had this old whale tooth with a KU carved into it. It was beautiful but he wanted 495.00 so I just took a picture. The picture was FREE!

antique show? was it around here?
interesting tooth/carving,did you check to see if it was real bone or resin?
and by the way did you ever get back to the Witco coffee table?

Hey David. The antique show was in Maumee over by Toledo. My dad puts it on for the Maumee Historical Society each year as he runs the Society. He talks me into working security every year. So far I haven't had to tackle any of the little old ladies trying to steal quilts or early american furniture. There were some nice Indian Totems there if you are into that sort of thing. The Ku absolutly appeared to be on a tooth. Definatly not resin. This guy is there every year and he has the best booth by far. All early militaria including indian artifacts and weapons, war of 1812 and civil war stuff. I was chatting with him about the 73rd time I walked by his booth on patrol and after telling him what I was into he pulled a small display case off the wall that had the the tooth in it. I did go back and check on the table while over there and it was gone. I don't think I would have bought it even if it was there though. Something better will come along.
