Perhaps you are the one who's horizons need expanding.

I have no problem connecting with and appreciating a variety of music, whether it be The Replacements "I Will Dare," a high school favorite that still makes me smile, or John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme," an album I fell in love with only a few years ago. If it moves me, I like it.

I feel sorry you have cut off your emotional connection to the music of your youth, though. What a sad loss for you.
