The Luau restaurant was part of the Hawaii Kai Motel. Ben Holmes "the govenor" was also the manager of the hotel. Here is a letter from the Hawaii kai. Here is a letter from the Luau restaurant. add #1 add #2 They also served drinks in tiki mugs. the also had a tiki gift shop.
