Culp teamed with "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry, playing occult investigator William Sebastian in the 1977 NBC "pilot""Spectre." France Nuyen was also in the original Star Trek. What many people do not know is he was first considered for the lead role in "Space 1999" The role went to Martin Landau. He was a real presence with those of us who grew up in the 1960's R.I.P.
