They had the band playing in the "lagoon" and the thunderstorm. They also called it one of the first tiki bars in America. Am I wrong in thinking it didn't become tiki until sometime in the 60's which would actually make it quite late in the game? Also, I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet - America's Next Top Model is in New Zealand and there's quite a nicely carved Maori tiki visible in some of the interviews and a large tiki is the centerpiece in the judging room (that one may be a prop but the other one looks real enough). (yes, I've outed myself as an ANTM watcher).
