There is a difference between copying and inspiration ... All we are guided by what the ancients did. Now, copy an original design directly to an artist today is not a good thing. Emulate the work of others to do your own artwork it's already something else. And it's true that sometimes the limit, between copying and inspiration, is tenuous...
There is always something more or less accurate in returning the design of a tiki: body half sitting, almost ready to pounce in fact, open mouth and other details after the Marquesan style, Hawaiian or other...
