There is a theory that this "monster" was a smoke curtain for the 1994 Devaluation of the peso and joining of the NAFTA North America Free Trade Agreement (or TLC Tratado de Libre Comercio in Mexican)by Carlos Salinas the Gortari (the most heated president of recent times)

Not tiki in style, but in spirit. Or just plain Mexotic!
