Thanks a bunch Surfin, This giand piece of Abalone came from our own BK, Basement kahuna for the uninitiated and I think it was California Abalone, about 8 inches across. The eyes are large, Almost 1/2" across and hollowed out in the back down to 1.5mm. They glow a bit red with a back light but are not as translucent as I had hoped for, still they give an Evil looking glare! Here are the final shots of this guy.
