Lucas, first of all let me congratulate you again on QUITTING SMOKING!!!! :drink: If you can do that, you can do anything you want to!

I'm no expert at weight loss but at 52 years old, I'm 5'11' and 180, I must be doing something close to right. Remember that dieting is not like quitting smoking, you can't stop cold turkey because you still have to eat. My daughter is a Registered Dietician, here's her advice; eat sensible portions, cut down on fat intake, do not skip meals, AVOID FAD DIETS! (grapefruit juice WILL NOT erase fat, nor will Acai, HydroxiCut, Agave Syrup, Green Algae, etc :) ) take it slow and easy - it took 25 years to get fat, don't expect to get skinny in 3 weeks. And don't set up a diet so rigid that you can't enjoy eating or enjoy life.

The formula to weight loss is actually quite simple (in theory, not always in application); if you burn more calories than you take in you WILL lose weight. You can either decrease your calorie intake, increase your calorie expenditure (EXERCISE!), or both
