OK, here's a backlog of stuff I have been meaning to catch up on: A wooden fish from Fiji:
I paid a whopping NZ$16 for this thing, and still don't know if I love it or hate it. A coconut holder thing from Tonga ($1.50):

Colourful Papua New Guinea ($2), a photo book published in 1975, shortly after the country gained independence:
This book happens to have more photos of topless tribal girls than a bumper vintage issue of National Geographic, but we won't go into that here.... Gardens Of War ($2), an amazing study of tribal warfare in PNG:
This one focuses on primitive warfare up in the highlands and has some great photos of warriors and battles. CN |
