HAGSTROM, Calvin Carl - Born July 9, 1922, died January 29, 2005, in Orinda, from complications of Parkinson's. Survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Betty Hagstrom; daughters, Suzanne Sold of Longview, WA and Corinne Vasquez (Glen) of Clayton; grandchildren, Catherine Sold and Adrienne and Kevin Vasquez; brother, Warren Hagstrom (Pat); and sisters, Anita Faulkner and Ellen Kapellas (Mart); and many nieces and nephews. Graduated Piedmont H.S. and attended University of Oregon before serving in the U.S. Air Corps during WWII. He spent the majority of his service on Tinian in B-29s. Following his service he entered the family grocery business which later became Hagstrom Properties until his retirement in 1996. He was a resident of Orinda for 57 years. While serving his community by supporting many different organizations such as Kiwanis, Red Cross, Goodwill and Aldersley were very important, his real passion was racing his sailboat on San Francisco Bay where he won many season championships. Member of Richmond Yacht Club since the early 60s he served on many committees and in elected offices. Since retirement, he spent many enjoyable days cruising the bay with his "Geritol" and "Sunshine Boys," camping and hiking in Bodega Bay and traveling with his wife. Private memorial will be held at a later date per Calvin's request. In lieu of flowers please send donations to: American Parkinson's Disease Assn. Inc. 1250 Hylan Blvd, Ste. 4B, Staten Island, NY 10305. *

There is a Hagstrom Reality still located in Orinda CA but only lists a phone number and not an e-mail
