Great article. The end reminded me of the only Easter Islander I have ever met. I was visiting a marae in the North Island of NZ with a delegation of Pacific Islanders from various countries, and he amazed everyone by standing up and addressing the welcoming party in Maori! It turned out he had lived in NZ for a couple of years and had studied Maori at the Gisborne polytech.
