Hello Suicide Tiki,

I wish I could say that's my work, but it is a photo I took of the wall of a seedy nightspot in Montreal. It looks to me like it is airbrushed, with the red and white over-sprayed with two different shades of yellow, and the artist has done various parts of the over-spraying with the layer(s) underneath still partially wet. Where the yellow splashes out into the red near the top right-hand corner it looks like some brushwork has been applied too.

You can also see a bit where the paint appears to be chipped or scraped off (elongated reddish-yellow mark above the yellow strip). Probably not intentional, but still an interesting effect.

You could probably play around a bit on some scrap wood first to come up with some patterns.
