Description:
I have been meaning to post this forever and keep forgetting. The Sandpiper Beacon Hotel in Panama City Beach Florida has upped the Tiki content greatly in the last couple years. They have an area they call the Tiki Bar, which a couple years ago consisted only of a couple Florida style tikis. Now there are over 50 tikis, tiki masks, and cartoon style tikis around the place. Even though it is called the Tiki Bar, it is really the main gathering place for the many, many activities the hotel offers (scavenger hunts, magicians, kareokee, face painting). On Friday nights they host a welcome party in which they serve Tiki Punch (rum and punch) or Virgin Tiki Punch and pieces of giant cookies (from a mall type cookie place)... and it's free! (help yourself to as much as you want in some cheap little plastic hurricaine type glass).

Now here's the best part... just outside the Tiki Bar area (once again, that's open for all ages) there's a couple sitting areas which include benches made by Florida style tiki carvers, tiki torches, some gaslit open flames, other beachy decore. It's all in the sand right next to the bar so you can sit there and listen to whatever's going on with your feet in the sand surrounded by Tiki's. Not too shabby... now if we could get them to put some tiki's up around the indoor lazy river we'd be in even better shape!

This place has came a long way in the past couple years we've been going there.
