Legend also has it there was a secret tunnel running underneath the bar, used to Shanghai unsuspecting patrons down to the waterfront. If you happen to wander down to San Pedro, CA on 6th street, there is one of the oldest bookstores in Los Angeles, William's Books. They sell Shanghai Reds T-Shirts (Sorry no pics)and books by Bamboo Ben's mom. And after making this post I was on the phone with my father in law.
