I would bet it's a Tahitian tourist carving, and a real nice one, IMO! The tiki style is Marquesan.
Was there a second pic in your post that isn't showing up? I'd like to see it, if you can fix it...

Somebody more authoritative may chime in on this, but I hated seeing you hanging without any answer.
