Desert sunset:

We've had the desert version of rainy days here the last 3 days. It's kind of nice because the temp drops from over 100 to the low 90's when it starts.

About 3 weeks ago, the summer kicked in here. It was 108-112 for a week straight. It's a little cooler now, 102-104 in the day, with nighttime lows of about 90. I've been trying to switch to a nocturnal schedule and get work done when it cools off at night.
I installed a shoplight on my back porch to help facilitate my night carving. Here's my 94 degrees at night well lit outside work area:

I'd usually be working on the floor, but the rain got my carpet all wet:

Second pole is rough carved. Bottom right face is now blocked out:

Since this picture was snapped, I did some final adjustments to the one on the left:

A little clean up sanding and it's detail time.

Meanwhile, I picked up the fence bamboo when I was in SD last week:

In owl news, I went to do some lake raking and came across one getting a drink:
