For all the rope art enthusiasts (forgive me if I digress, Skip), here is another great use for the material I haven't seen that often:

In Santa Monica there was a street with TWO Tiki-titled apartment buildings. The first one was the TIKI, of which I believe I published this photo in my books:

Now rope FRAMING is cool, but what I really liked was what they did for the TIKI TOO, down the street from the Tiki:

Unfortunately, by the time I got to document it (in Sept.'93), the lettering had somewhat decayed, so I never used it for publication.
But I often wondered about the way it must have looked in its heyday, hoping an original photo would surface some day.
Probably as cool as this rope font:
