And though we might think that to start having strip acts in supper clubs was a sign of devolution into a "seedier" genre of entertainment, it makes sense: WHAT was the only thing that TV could not offer to the adult audience?: Nudity and sex! That's the one thing where it could NOT compete with the nightclubs.
