The version of Louie Louie by the Kingsmen was banned for nasty lyrics and even led to an FBI investigation on it. It took them some months and lots of money to determine that the words were unintelligable so it couldn't be considered obscene under federal law. The actual words to the song aren't nasty at all, as you can clearly understand on the original version by Richard Berry. One wonders why the FBI didn't listen to the original song! |
