I was just thinking about my time on the Gold Coast and one day, after work, stopping
for a few beers at a polynesian themed restaurant...
I think it was out past Movie World on the Pacific Motorway or maybe on the Gold Coast Highway,
can't remember exactly, anyway the place was built with large poles, thatch etc. and I
seem to recall Tikis, in the Kiwi style. A bit vague but it was 17 or 18 years ago.
I don't think it has been mentioned on Tiki Central, anybody know about it?
Maybe worth a visit if still there.

Must have been the restaurant referenced at the following link - Pacific Lagoon http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/~dtmatenga/Kenaninui/kenaninui.html

Unfortunately it seems no longer to exist. I could only find some holiday apartment place called Pacific Lagoon. Shame.

Sling Lounge is the only tiki-ish place in Brisbane I've encountered in my research - http://www.slinglounge.com/. Well, the menu features a few tiki drinks at pages 34-36 - yes, it's a huge list! Interestingly the Zombie, credited as the Don The Beachcomber recipe, is actually the 1950 one, and not the 1934 recipe Beachbum Berry has identified as the definitive Don one. Which is good, 'cos I love the 1950 recipe! (guess who attended Beachbum's Zombie seminar complete with Zombie tasting in Berlin on Sunday?!)
