Regarding heritage listing for a Savage club hall, I'd imagine it could be an uphill battle in today's political environment. A society whose accoutrements included such gems as this...

...is unlikely to gain much traction with cultural preservationists or the MCH! Still, stranger things have happened, and if there is enough community support there may be a chance.
