International TIKI Market Place
featuring
The Kalama Brothers
In line with Donn Beach and his founding the International Market Place in Hawaii in 1956, we bring the International Tiki Market Place to Don the Beachcomber!
“Don the Beachcomber admires very much the work that members of our community have put into the development of such events as the amazing Tiki Oasis, The Hukilau, and other big ticket gatherings of our clan across the United States. Through that work a very positive effect has been felt in the growth and expansion of Tiki in America. DTB supports each of them, both financially and emotionally. However, we believe that Tiki would additionally benefit from the development of smaller projects, that do not demand long trips, reduce costs to the participants simply by holding the costs to those who stage them to a minimum, making access possible to vendors who otherwise would not be able to afford it.” - Arthur Snyder
and... Vicious Virgin II Tiki Mug Release!
THE RELEASE OF THE LIMITED EDITION (250) OF THE BEAUTIFUL VICIOUS VIRGIN MUG BY DON THE BEACHCOMBER WAS APPARENTLY SOLD OUT ON THE RELEASE DATE. BUT THEN A FULL CASE WAS FOUND WHERE IT HAD BEEN SQUIRRELED AWAY BY DTB PERSONNEL. MOST OF THOSE WERE SOLD IN THE DTB BAR, AND A FEW BY EBAY. UNLESS A FEW ARE DISCOVERED ON-SITE IN THE FUTURE, THAT EDITION IS GONE.
(SECURITY HAS BEEN IMPROVED FOR FUTURE MUG SALES.)
WHEN IT DEVELOPED THAT THE VV MUG WAS IN GREAT DEMAND, ART PUT IN AN ORDER FOR "VICIOUS VIRGIN II", WHICH, WHILE IDENTICAL IN THE FORM CREATED BY "CRAZY AL" EVANS, WAS MADE IN A GREEN COLOR, USING GLAZES THAT WERE LESS EXPENSIVE AND REQUIRED LESS TIME IN THE KILN, AND A PRICE REDUCED TO $30 FROM $35.
THESE HAVE NOW ARRIVED, AND WILL BE FOR SALE AT "DON'S INTERNATIONAL TIKI MARKETPLACE" THIS SUNDAY, AND THEREAFTER IN THE DAGGER BAR.
11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Longboard Room
FREE! $10 admission and get $10 voucher for food/drinks!
