When I'm not on tiki central (or at work) I write short adventures stories about a seaplane pilot named Mattie Grumman who's on the trail of Yamashita's gold- a stockpile of stolen wealth hidden by the Imperial Japanese Army somewhere in the Philippines during World War II. I've a website where I'm posting this story, and other Mattie stories as well as World War II, Pacific and Philippine history blogs and would appreciate it if you'd give it a look.

This whole thing started with an idea I had when I was deployed in Ar Ramadi, Iraq back in 2008 and then worked on while I was stationed on Diego Garcia (the definitive tropical paradise) and here on Guam. Though Mattie is fiction I try to put her stories in the more or less real world. So pretty much anything in the stories you can look up yourself and find there is real history behind it. I've studied World War II extensively and living where I am (and having been adopted by a Filipino family) I've been lucky enough to visit the Philippines and experience the islands and culture for myself. I try to pass on what I've learned, seen and felt in my stories and writings. If you enjoy my work feel free to let me know what you think of it.
