Hi Lori, thank you for your note. After you bisque fire your dry clay sculpt you must wipe the inside and outside with clean wet sponges or hose them off which is what I prefer. If you have a spec of dust on your bisque fired ceramic it can cause your glaze to crawl. That means it will pull away and leave an unglazed area on your work.

If you use sponges it's one wipe turn it over and wipe and then get an new sponge or wash this one before wiping again. Dust is a major problem when it comes to glazing.
