Boys, boys boys!!! Dan is my nipple tester. He was very hands on in choosing the color. They are painted pink just the way he likes them but they are not showing up in the photography. I could paint them darker so they will. I'll do some more testing with Dan.

Hi Swizzle I'm glad you like the Bumatay Bowl. I'll PM you back.

Progress Report.

Yesterday was another step forward. Dan worked in the garage with a dremmel. This tool has a bit that will slowly grind away glaze.

Remember back when these were fired. I wanted the glaze on inside and out and very thick. So I put them on spikes in the kiln. I didn't want to wipe the bottoms clean of glaze. When the glaze runs down the spikes the ceramic will have its own spike formed that has to be removed.

Sandpaper is not good enough.

So Dan worked on each one.

Hours later he finished.

There are spots where all the glaze was removed but its better than spikes that don't allow the flame to sit well.

While Dan worked on this I worked on making a larger octopus for the Bumatay chunk lamp. This clay is #4 Romo and is super hard.

I used a second tool to help my cut the first tool through the clay.

Then I started making holes that exist between the tentacles.

The holes go all the way through.

Here's a comparison between the small and large octopus.

Thank you all so much for checking in. I'll see about making the mug the best it can be so I'll re-glaze some of the tests to see what happens. Please stay with me I will get these done. Cheers, Wendy
