MadDogMike if only we had read your idea first! See below. WestADad after your note this packing material will not be peanuts if will be popcorn. Lori Loves Tikis thanks for noticing it is hard heavy dusty work. On the other hand it is fun and rewarding because I get to read all these fun notes each day. Atomic Tiki Punk I hope you will all join me on the next 24 special orders If I remember right I need to make: 16 custom Bobs cdTiki I hope you can explain that to me on the 5th! Wish List Progress Report: Psycho Tiki D's Missionary's Downfall Bowl Disaster Next mistake was to not just throw it out. Instead I told Dan to saw it in half so I could diagnose its problems. Face masks worn during surgery. The power saw didn't go deep enough so I finished it off with a hand saw. Looks like a cross section of a CT scan. I could see that the clay had not dried or shrunk in parts. So it's set aside to see if it will dry enough to be pulled out. Dan the clean up man vacuumed - a no-no. Mopping pinup. Of course everything in the garage is now covered in plaster dust. If we end up with COPD we'll know why. On to the wish list. While the Alter bowl dries some more I went on to the Bumatay Bowls. It sure is fun to have already poured and stored all the parts for all 24 projects. I cleaned out the inside of the bowls and added my name to the bottoms. Example: top Bumatay not finished, bottom Bumatay finished. I cut an opening at the base of each fish for air to escape during firing. Skipping ahead I filled the bowl with paper towels so I could invert it onto a jar. I do this because I need to protect the head fin while I finish off the bottom attachments. Before After I actually did four fish at a time. Because the bowl and fish are drier than the clay used to attach them it needs to dry slowly to prevent cracks. I wrap it up so that the clay can equalize. After a few days I will unwrap these so they can dry out completely. Onto the next project...(: Wendy |
