Is this all really "Crime Jazz" though ?? Sharp horn riffs set against action sequences always evoke that musical genre for me, even it it's for cartoon superheros.

I think Ran, aka (Kick the Reverb) knows the answer,
and has a cd of a bunch of that music.
I'll ask him to chime in here.

The first season of the animated Spiderman show had original music by Ray Ellis. Original sound track recordings do not exist. A rock band named the Amazing Spider Band recorded an album with covers for those tunes.
The second and third seasons used cheaper production library music, mostly from KPM/APM.
There is a whole Yahoo group dedicated to this music:

On that group profh0011 is the guy to contact about a compilation CD containing all the known tunes.
