Are you sticking a shot glass in it? Or just hollowing it out?

I started a janus carving quite awhile back and wanted to make a shot type mug out of it. Afraid it's probably to late to hollow it though.
(was thinking making a silicon mold, the making a plug for the indie to use for the cast)
