Actually the original "Blood & Sand" dates back to the 1920's Silent Film era (as in the Rudolph Valentino film). As documented by Beachbum Berry, Ray Buhen tweaked the scotch drink with tequila in honor of Tyrone Power remake. :)

Correct John-O! I should have clarified it as the original Ray Buhen/Dresden version...
