Hey! It´s been a while since my last post here so it´s good to be back

We recently bought a new flat and came up with the idea of transforming one room to a tiki room...
This is what it looked like when we moved in in, very white.

We painted the room and the plan was to keep it like that and just add a bar and some lamps.
But now i´ll cover one wall with lauhala and bamboo (to begin with). Unfortunaly all these materials
are quite expensive and hard to get in Sweden so it´s gonna take a while until everything´s finished.

I´m not gonna do anything about the ceiling, my wife loves it the way it is
(the apartment is built in 1936 and she loves vintage stuff from 40-50´s)

The bar in progress

Added some lauhala, tomorrow i´ll cut some bamboo to frame the matting.

My plan is to cover the walls next to the bar with lauhala, but should i go with some other matting instead?
Since i´ve already covered the bar in lauhala? Suggestions?

Mahalo!
