Thanks, Mick! Hope to see you at the show! Pulled the final screens last night. If you aren't familiar with the screen printing process, here's a quick breakdown: A tight mesh screen is coated with a photo emulsion. The screen is burned by an exposure unit and the unnecessary emulsion is removed, leaving behind a clean area in the mesh with the identical shape as the desired image from the film. Each color has it's own screen... and the ink is pulled through the screen onto the paper with a squeegee. It is super easy to screw up registration, ink consistency, squeegee pressure, and a TON of other things... We are super ecstatic about how these prints came out. The blackline is a high gloss ENAMEL ink. The contrast between flat inks and the gloss is really cool. Each one will be numbered and signed. They are all totally one of a kind prints. |
