I have seen a matchbook from this place, always wondered about it. Thanks for that nice bit of history OGR.

"The Showplace of the Nation's Capitol" - doesn't sound like a suburban strip mall!

Funny thing about the Tiki Transmission Tradition, the Bamboo frame with a lei and flowers motif on the back of the matchbook was used decades earlier at the Kowloon in Los Angeles.

I was talking to Bosko at the Don the Beachcomber Tiki Marketplace this weekend and we figured that the matchbook companies and artists sure spread a lot of Tiki imagery around over the years.
