Yeah, very interesting take on what we today always think of as overharvesting of trees. You know what perplexes me, though. I'm no expert on Easter Island in any way...but all the picture I've seen of the place in the present day STILL seems to show a lack of trees. Seems like they'd be planting a lot more trees even if it was just for "eco-tourism" and to just look pretty....:) |
