And.....we've got some news for this lovely Winter Monday to make you think of warmer times when you'll all be joining us in Lake George!

Ticket news, etc. below.......AND, importantly, the KICK-OFF PARTY on Thursday:

Bargoyle's email ramblings below for your reading pleasure..........

Aloha and greetings from ice-planet Hoth!

For those who were whomped by the blizzard this weekend, I hope your Tuntaun kept you warm and safe and all is well. For those who didn’t get hit by the historic snow storm… You suck. :P

But if there’s one positive from this weekend, its that being buried alive under never-ending snow made me turn thoughts to Ohana and we were able to finalize a few things.

Sooo… BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TIME:

  1. Tickets for Ohana will be on sale THIS Friday 2/15 at …. Hmmm, lets say 11:22am EST just to screw with the web guy.

  2. Tickets will remain at $85/ea and as usual includes dinner on Saturday night at the Luau and all the fun, shows, performances, games, and shenanigans during the weekend. (That’s the lowest price per shenanigan you will find ANYWHERE. I guarantee it!)

  3. There will, once again, be a kickoff party on the Thursday before Ohana. Its not on a boat this year, but it will still kick all sorts of ass (without making me nervous about being on the water). The boat trip may return next year, but this year its ROTSOTTFLG (details below).

  4. Tickets for the kickoff are separate (we know all of you can’t make it Thursday, but if you can, it’s a killer time) and will be $25. They will be on sale this Friday as well. And yes, that $25 includes food, live music, and yet still even more shenanigans.

  5. Tickets to Ohana and the ROTSOTTFLG kick-off party make a wonderful Valentines Day gift for a cherished loved one. Just sayin’.

So, remember, at 11:22am Eastern Standard Time this Friday, go to http://www.LuauAtTheLake.com and the “Buy Tickets” link will be live. If you don’t see it right away, hit refresh on your browser, or clear your cache. Gooney’s done such a great job on the site and getting everything done so quick I’ve gotta throw him a curveball.

Mahalo for the continued support! And we’ll see you at the Lake!

KICK OFF PARTY RAMBLINGS!!

Ok, I said it a bunch of times above… ROTSOTTFLG.

And you probably think I’ve finally popped that last remaining braincell and now delirium has finally taken the upperhand. WRONG!! The (losing) battle for my sanity continues to rage on!

And the kickoff party stands to test your sanity as well….

Dare you to face the **Return Of The Son Of The Thing From Lake George **???

That’s right folks, that’s our theme for this year:

Cheesy 50s/60s sci-fi and monster movies!!

It will take place at the Tiki, and our amazing decorating committee (headed by the always lovely and talented Wahine Ina) are transforming Whispers into a wacky wonderland of movie cheese!

As usual, we’ll have food and cocktails (food is included, cocktails are on you), some great music, movies, games, a costume contest (I better see at least one Godzilla, dammit!) and the whole thing will be headlined by….

The Coffin Daggers!!

If you’re not familiar with the Coffin Daggers, well, boy are you in for a treat! The Coffin Daggers deliver an all out attack on the senses drawing from diverse influences, ranging from Dick Dale, Henry Mancini, Link Wray, and the Cramps. These guys will “stomp a mudhole into your fragile minds”…in a good way! We’re thrilled to have them, and once again Thursday night is shaping up to be a “can’t miss”… so Don’t Miss it!!!!

Oh, and about the costume contest… the sky is the limit; Be a victim, be a monster, be a robot, be the scientist with the short, wide tie and plaid sport coat… pretty much anything you want!!

And as usual, a costume is not required, but if you’re up for it, we’d love to see you in one! And in this case saying “Oh, I’d come in costume, but I don’t think I could make anything good” is no excuse. We’re talking cheesy 50s/60s monster movies!!! They had a shoestring budget and questionable artistic talent on a good day! Cheepnis is king. Bad costumes are the norm here!!!

Stay warm everyone, and we’ll see ya at the bottom of the lake… bwaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
