I sat through the whole thing waiting for the payoff. I thought Bassey was a kick-ass start to something great, but turns out that's all there was. I know everyone loves Adele, but Skyfall is a good Bond tune because of the music, not the singer (unlike Bassey who brings something extraordinary to everything she belts out). The arrangement for the Oscars was blah. She did not make it less blah. The CD single out there is much better and if you doubt me, get the import version that also has the song without the vocals. Pure Bond. So there!
