AND......back this year for the 5th year in a row.....THE OHANA COCKTAIL CONTEST!
Get the full scoop below from the latest & greatest Ohana email BLAST.

AlooooooooooooooooooooooooHA!

Yowza yowza yowza do I have a bunch to tell you today! I’ll try to keep it brief, but no promises.

First, we have an amazing new sponsor… Deadhead Rum!! And if you haven’t seen their stuff, you NEED to check out http://deadheadrum.com immediately, just to see the crazy-amazing bottle this wonderful elixir comes in!!

Deadhead is really going overboard with their support, and I’ll get to all of it below, but the first thing I want to mention is their sponsoring of the annual Cocktail Contest!!

Often imitated, never duplicated, the cocktail contest is back, and once again is your chance to compete for fame and glory (and a cool trophy!) on the battlefield of mixology. As usual, you’ll have 5 minutes to present your drink, and will be judged on Taste, use of the Sponsor Rum, and Presentation. And yes, presentation STILL means “What the drink looks like” (Ie garnish, serving container, color, etc) but we welcome pageantry and theatrics in this category as well… although don’t feel you need to wear an Aztec Sun God costume and recite an epic poem to get the judges attention. Sometimes just a quick explanation of the drink works best. And don’t go over the 5 minutes. You will be gonged.

If you’d like to throw your hat in the ring to compete against other amateur mixologists, the always lovely and organized Kristiki is coordinating once again. Send her an email: Kristy.Bronner(at)gmail(dot)com if you want more info, or to sign up. Space is limited, so don’t delay, act today!!

And speaking of acting today (segue!!) be sure to buy your tickets for the event!! We’re well over halfway sold out!! Having a room reserved at the Tiki does NOT guarantee you entrance to the event, so buy your tickets before its too late!! Get em here: http://fraternalorderofmoai.org/ohana/tickets.php

Ok, now back to the Deadhead stuff. Did you see the bottle!?!?!? Were you too lazy to click the link? Ok, here’s a teaser of what it looks like:

Too cool huh? I don’t know about you, but I LOVES me some shrunken heads!

And these folks are amazing! Not only are they sponsoring the Cocktail Contest, but they’re also sponsoring the Kick-Off Party!!

Talk about a perfect fit for our 50s/60s Monster & Sci-Fi themed “Return of The Son of The Thing From Lake George” kick-off party!!! Deadhead will be right at home amongst all of our creatures of the night! We’ll have some great surprises from them throughout the party, so be sure to come out a day early and join us if you can.

Oh, we’ve also added a second band to the kick-off party… 9th Grave, who will warm us up with monster tunes that are not to be missed. You can get kickoff tickets on the ticket page http://fraternalorderofmoai.org/ohana/tickets.php and even if you’ve already bought Ohana tickets, you can still add the kick-off. Note: Thursday is VERY close to sold out as we’re limited by the room occupancy. Don’t wait to pull the trigger.

So, cocktail contest, kick-off party…pretty cool huh? But wait! There’s more! (Seriously, we can’t thank Deadhead enough… they’ve gone mental with the support!) What about the RUM itself, you say? How do I get some of that in my belly, you ask?

Well, Deadhead will be on-site for the weekend, giving out free samples, tons of swag, and will be featured in the drinks the Tiki is serving! I hear a rumor they may even be hosting a crawl room!!!

So, be sure to give them a big Mahalo and visit their website: http://deadheadrum.com or go like them on the facepage: https://www.facebook.com/DeadheadRum and let them know you’re psyched to see them at Ohana!!

Tons more to come really soon including more band announcements and rooms crawls and all manner of shenanigans!
