I don't think staples, even from a staplegun, would work on lath and plaster walls, which is what you probably have. So it sounds like you found a really good alternative that works for you!

About blowfish lamps...I have a dried blowfish that was given to me. I'd like to turn it into a lamp. There is another thread that mentions catching, skinning, drying.........then get lamp parts, rig it up, and you have a lamp! But I need to know the details, like: how big of a hole, what kind of lightbulb fits, what kind of hardware. Is reinforcement of a pre-dried and shellaced fish needed? I understand putting together lamp parts on spaghetti lamps and such, but not on a dead fish.

Any hints from any exerienced makers of blowfish lamps? My fish is about 5" across, not counting spines.
