I have seen them (twice I think) at tiki oasis in San Diego and really enjoy their music. This was my introduction to them.

Their type of music appealed to me way before tiki art, drinks and culture ever did. I was into this type of music (surfy-ish instrumental) before being introduced to the "tiki scene" but it took a tiki event to introduce me to this band.

So my questions regarding the larger observation of the early tiki revival folks/ scene are:

Was the tiki scene (events, gatherings, makeup of the community) of the 90s and early 00's mostly a LA/OC scene? (If this was already discussed on TC somewhere then it is cool if you hate me for asking :) )

Did the Blue Hawaiians tour? Would anybody have had the chance to see them outside of LA/OC or tiki O?

I realize this is posted in California Events so the audience is Californians but I was just curious. I hope my questions don't derail this thread too much and are somewhat related and constructive.

Cheers,
SK
