Bruddah,
As much as I appreciate the helpful advice, I don't seriously think that Mr. Beachcomber had his wife hold up stuff to nail. I need to do this in an authentic fashion, without the interference of broads. They're welcome to admire from afar and fetch the occasional cocktail when they're instructed to, but tiki carpentry is he-man's work. We've tried collaborating before, and an argument ensued because the nail kept falling out. She claimed that my nail was too thin and short for the hole, while I knew that the hole was way too large & worn out for the size nail I had.

But once I get to the nailing-in process, which direction should the hammer imprint be running? If the nail is angled downward, what angle should the hammer be striking the nail at? And what will keep the art from sliding off a downward-angled nail? And would a 20 oz. hammer suffice?

This has to be done the right way.
