I would guess that they are rattan not bamboo.
They look tiki to me, and I think I have a photo
of those lights or some like them, as I wanted to make them.
If they are too big for your space you could cut them in half and make
up light wall sconces, or even pendant type lights.
Doing this would give you eight lights.
It should be easy to put lights in them.
