Mr. Tipsy: I definitely thought they looked a bit northwoods myself... I was thinking maybe they knocked down an old Indian lodge or something (there is a super cool one in Rock Island that dates to the 1920's with antler chandeliers and the whole bit.)

But... they ARE indeed made of bamboo, no matter how much they look like snowshoes!

Skip: Where did you see similar fixtures before? We're thinking we'll turn 'em on their side and light 'em up in a similar fashion to the classic fish trap lights... we DO have some old school tapa cloth patterned fabric we'll employ in one way or another. There's a ton of flexibility with these things, so I'm sure we'll figure out something to make 'em work.

Dave- you'll have ta give us yer opinion on how to make 'em work for my "plan" in person... the pictures really didn't give me a proper idea of the construction on these things... maybe Sun after Fong Fest for Pisco hangover drinks? I'll holler in a bit...
