While looking for “regular” Kahl’ua among the myriad flavored Kahl’uas on the market shelf I thought that I’d finally found it. It looked like the regular stuff at first til I noticed that it was marked “rum and coffee Liqueur” just below the big letters Kahl’ua. Intrigued, I bought it anyway to try in my Mexican Coffees this evening.I compared the bottle to some I’d bought years ago in Baja. The Baja label simlpy identifies the contents as “ liicor de cafe (kahl’ua)” Did something change during the past 2 years while I was enjoying the no longer available Trader Vic’s Kona coffee liquor?
