interesting... not too far (4 blocks) from junkanoo... i wonder if they were contemporary rivals. thanks for the info! adding it to my roster of dc tiki locations! :D ADDENDUM: while looking up the tahitian hut in alexandria in the historic papers online, i found that that location and Osaka were contemporaries - this is from February 4, 1973:
