Renowned multi-faceted artist Todd Rundgren will host Todd Rundgren’s Mythic Pacific Retreat from August 18-22, 2014 at the picturesque Cambria Pines Lodge, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles on California’s scenic Central Coast. This will be the fifth in his very successful series of Todd-hosted camp events: Toddstock (Kauai 2008), Toddstock II v6.5 (New Orleans 2013), and two in Big Indian NY: Music Survival Camp (2011), and Musical Revival Camp (2012). MPR is already 80% sold out, as a result of the early tease posted by Todd on the event’s website: “As the pioneers made their way inexorably westward in search of new lands and adventures, so the Rundgren Nation must explore the nether regions of this vast continent. Thus we encamp this August for our first Mythic Pacific Retreat at the Cambria Pines Lodge on the Middle Coast of California. Our agenda is still in development, but do not hesitate to explore the site of our destination -- http://www.MythicPacificRetreat.com -- and consider joining us for what is sure to be an historic event. Eureka!” Todd Rundgren’s Mythic Pacific Retreat will offer fans a chance to share once-in-a-lifetime experiences with Rundgren, including enjoying nightly musical jam sessions at this sublimely serene location. Guests at Todd Rundgren’s Mythic Pacific Retreat will choose from a variety of room options at Cambria Pines Lodge (www.cambriapineslodge.com). Located on 25 acres of Monterey pines and landscaped gardens, Cambria Pines Lodge is within minutes of the Pacific Ocean and Hearst Castle, and is close to hundreds of wineries. Cambria, California is easily accessible by air via the San Luis Obispo airport and by car via the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. In other news, Todd will be presented with the prestigious Les Paul Award at the 29th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards (TEC Awards). The awards recognize outstanding achievement in professional audio technology and production and will be presented January 24 at the Anaheim Hilton during the 2014 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA. This honor has been granted to such luminaries as Pete Townshend, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young and Peter Gabriel. There will be a webcast of Todd receiving the Les Paul Award at 7:00 PM Pacific Time, followed by a short performance (Todd will be joined onstage by Jesse Gress and Prairie Prince). This webcast is free and will be streamed at http://www.namm.org. For more details on the NAMM TEC Awards, visit: http://tecfoundation.com/news/2013-09-23.html. The same day Todd is presented with the Les Paul Award, he will formally announce details of The Spirit of Harmony Foundation (www.spiritofharmony.org)--a charity organization created to help school programs with music education--at NAMM's Support Music Coalition webcast, on Friday, January 24, starting at 2:00 PM Pacific Time. The webcast is free, but you must register to attend. Please click here for more information and to register. The Spirit of Harmony Foundation will promote cultural, academic, social and personal benefits of music for young people through special events, mentoring, advocacy, social entrepreneurship and strategic partnerships. “The purpose is to provide support and funding to school programs and other sorts of organizations who are trying to bring music to people who don't have it, especially in terms of learning how to play instruments, learning how to understand what music is all about and having opportunity to express yourself through that medium,” Todd Rundgren said in a video announcement [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDbd8O0Ra3s].
