The box set I got, this other one is "The Lost '40s and '50s Capitol Masters" by Collector's Choice Music, 2008. It's great because it's much less pop and more blues/jazzy/improvised. The best cuts never get the airplay, back in the 1940s same as today. It also has a nice selection of Lee/Dave Barbour compositions, and they SMOKE. |
