I wonder what will happen if the new owner doesn't raise money like it seems he is trying to.

Maybe he will give up the fish-owning-dream and follow through with the Damon's deal

I know the building has been resold twice as of now--I wonder what sort of deal the original owners had with that 1st buyer about the fish. I can't imagine walking away from pets--which is what they were at that point--without a care in the world. Lame.

Even though the caretaker guy is taking care of Rufus and the other however many are still alive fish maybe someone could put a word in with the ASPCA/Humane Society in SoCal about these fish--they could help steer the new owner down the correct path if he intends to retank (I don't think that is a word) any of them.

I know we called the Humane Society on this Chinese Restaurant once that had these poor turtles practically dying in a tank. They came in and helped. But that was in Florida and I don't have "connections" in SoCal like some of you claim to. Just a thought!

That is exactly my thoughts on this. A 2000 gallon tank is going to cost a ton of dough. I think they may scrap that whole idea and keep him in the same tank, if they end up really keeping him. The owner's wife does NOT want to be spending any more money on this. She hates having to spend on the upkeep of the fish and hates that electricity is being used there. Most of the fish are now gone, and a lot of the tanks are being stored in the back banquet room. Jorge asked me to tell you guys that if you want to buy a tank, reach out to him via the number I put up several days ago on this thread.
