Very nice article! Some of the things discussed are definitely present in my city - craft cocktail bars with Mai Tai's on their main menu, for example. I think that even if tiki were to disappear, 1) it is highly likely that the craft cocktail movement would remain, and 2) highly unlikely that "crafters" would abandon the many things they have learned and incorporated from the great tiki mixologists of the past.
